Twilight Upon The Eternal Sea (nature series part 4)

O endless sea, beneath the fading light,
Thy waves doth whisper 'neath the amber skies,
As day withdraws its golden, gleaming height,
And dusky clouds in twilight’s vesture rise.

Thy restless breast, O ocean, swells with grace,
Doth mimic heavens dappled with evening’s hue,
Where fire and shadow tenderly embrace,
And scatter 'cross the heavens, soft and true.

Thee, mighty sea, dost cradle night's advance,
As winds do sigh their melancholy tune.
Yon sky, as though in some ethereal trance,
Doth blush, with stars to greet the rising moon.

Thus fades the day, and with it goes my heart,
Enraptured by the sea’s eternal art.
