Ode To The Distant Light
Ode to the Distant Light
Upon the moors where shadows lay,
‘Neath ashen skies of cold and gray,
A whispered dawn begins to gleam,
As heaven weaves its sacred dream.
O heart, dost thou behold yon bow?
A spectral glow, so faint, so slow—
‘Tis where the earth meets sky’s embrace,
A silent covenant of grace.
Beyond the veil of cloud and rain,
Ethereal hues, soft yet profane,
Speak truths that mortal lips may miss—
The meeting place of souls and bliss.
O wanderer clad in sable hue,
Thy shoulders bear the midnight dew,
Yet still thy gaze remains alight,
Upon that ribbon—hope’s delight.
For such is love, a fleeting arc,
A shimmer ‘gainst life’s endless dark.
A vow unseen, a hymn unsung,
An ageless tale when hearts were young.
O pilgrim, there in fields untold,
The rainbow’s light shall yet enfold,
Thy weary frame, thy longing core,
Where love abides forevermore.
