My Warrior, Where Art Thou?
Mīn Cempa, Hwǣr Eart Þū?
Nū ofer land and sæ ic þē sēce,
On þǣm hlydum windes, ic gehīere þīnne nama.
Þīn mōdor lēoht on heofenum swīþe hlīefþ,
Ac mīn heorte bideth, ungelǣred and langiende.
Hwǣr is mīn cempa, mīn hlāford swefnes?
Hwænne wilt þū eft cuman tō mīnum earmum?
Beneoþ sunne and mōna, ic þence þīn līc,
And on þǣm nihtscuwan, mīn sāwol þē clipiþ.
Ne forlǣt mē, mīn lufu, ne losige on þȳm wolcnum,
Ac find mē on þǣm fægrum lēohtes tīman.

My Warrior, Where Art Thou?
Now over land and sea I seek thee,
In the whispers of the wind, I hear thy name.
Thy mother’s light in heaven soars high,
Yet my heart waits, untaught and yearning.
Where is my warrior, my lord of dreams?
When shalt thou return to mine arms?
Beneath sun and moon, I think of thy form,
And in the night’s darkness, my soul doth call thee.
Forsake me not, my love, nor be lost in the clouds,
But find me in the time of fair light.
