Reflected Longing

Reflected strength, a mirrored scene,
A sculpted form, both strong and keen,
"Working out," the caption reads,
But deeper still, the heart bleeds.

In black and white, a world defined,
By shades of longing, left behind,
A modern space, a timeless ache,
For love's lost touch, a heart to break.

Each flexed muscle, a silent plea,
To conquer grief, to set spirit free,
The sweat that falls, a cleansing rain,
Washing away the lingering pain.

Yet in the mirror's cold embrace,
A past life's love, leaves not a trace,
A haunting echo, soft and low,
Of joys once shared, a love's soft glow.

A youthful soul, he knew, he knew,
Now lost to time, a fading hue,
A whispered name, a silent tear,
For bonds once shared, held ever dear.

Though strength he builds, a fortress high,
Against the sorrow, in his eye,
A fragile heart, beneath the shell,
Still whispers tales, it knows so well.
